A thought for rims, Campag Omega Strada V, they do 36h and are prety stiff too.
I haven't manage to ding them at all, and I'm 20kg heavier than you.
But if classic isn't too much of a priority, I'd totally agree with the H&Son TB14 rims in the dark gray hardox finish, will look very smart and they're 23mm wide to boot.

They don't really do anything.
Just use race blades as an when.

Looking good!
How do you find the road spd's? Are they the rc-713's?
-
• #314
they are indeed. feel solid, secure etc. need to loosen the springs a bit on the non drive side, almost had a clipless fail today!!
-
• #315
Good stuff, I'll order some then! need a more elegant solution for my Roberts and they fit the bill nicely!
-
• #316
well they're cheap, match the groupset (colourwise) and allow me to share shoes with the Dodici.
If I switch to ATACs or buy some stiffer road shoes, I may change them..till then, cheap and cheerful and do the job.

• #324
How did you work out what size ferrule you needed ?
-
• #325
Sort of trial and error
First was a parts bin find at Micycle but was crap
Second was a fail purchase from SJS
3rd was me measuring internal diameter with a caliper and getting one from Oswald
Yeah, you need to get the right step-down for the ferrule. The gear cable will usually take an end cap first, and I think a plastic end cap will usually add up to ~5mm. You may need to measure the braze-on's internal diameter though.
