Froome let that one go methinks

He seems to be riding a very controlled and considered race. Very impressive. It did look like he swung the door open for Purito and invited him through.

He knows he can beat him in the TT, wants to put time in Contador more.
I wonder if there is even a bit of collusion between Sky and Katusha?

After having lost the Vuelta last year due to time bonuses, I would of thought he should of contested that if he could.
Edit - Actually, scrub that. He lost the Vuelta last year for having to initially ride for Wiggo.

Valverde is over a minute down after a pile up involving most of the movistar team and quite a few from leaky gas.
Sky have put the hammer down on the front as well.Great to watch them have a cry about it after that.
Fuck you Valverde and fuck you too Movistar.

"They didn’t have the balls to stop, they chose an unsporting way, Sky formed an echelon and they’re perfectly within their rights to do that. I’m not cross that I lost the lead because of this, but because there was no respect.”
Says unrepentant drugs cheat Valverde.

Oh and an Aussie actually won: where's Hippy doing a lap of honour?
My parents are in town. I caught up with about 4 stages last night.
Awesome work from Clarke.

Apparently Movistar's Jose Ivan Gutierrez drove the pace on after Sky's Siustou crash in the TdeF. Mebbe Sky didn't forget this ?
Movistar have form for attacking after crashes. Fuck them.
Sky attacked and then there was a crash. Slow down? Don't think so.

I loved it when Uran and Henao emerged from the pack to put a ferocious pace down which essentially negated any attacks until Froome decided he would go and only he and Rodriguez had the legs left.
Methinks after Valverde they were looking for friends in the peloton, looked to me like Froome just swung the door open and invited him through

why aren't thursday's highlights on ITV4 player?? GRRRR....
-
• #170
He let Rodriguez win so Sky don't have to defend red. Fresh domestiques in the finale were critical yesterday.
-
• #171
Even if Froome didn't let J-Rod through there was no way he would have won the stage. Froome was looking to make sure he hung on to 2nd.
Percentage play as always with Sky.

• #172
and because Rodriguez is no threat in the TT

Personally I'm not convinced Froome gifted that to Rodriguez. Yes he let him past, as Joaquim is clearly stronger on steep sections so he's a good wheel to follow.
Tactically it would have been worth Froome holding his wheel and attacking if he had it in him. Crossing the line 1st is worth 4 seconds, and there is only one 40km TT to make time back.
Froome will probably say he didn't see Rodriguez 'till after the race.

He looked a little startled to me when he came past...
