Best price I found for them is here. I managed to get Evans to pricematch them without adding on the cost for delivery too, which was nice. Great bars.

  • I reckon I'm going to get the Soma's when i rebuild my 'cross bike.

3TTT Morpheus? Not sure how compact they are but they are "shallow" from front to back. I have some waiting to be installed.

  • Deda Piega are fairly shallow drops

Yeah I have these on my Gazelle. I found them cheap and comfortable, 26.0 clamp, but if you have a quill stem rather than an open-face stem, they're an absolute bastard to fit due to the tight curvature. I've got a Nitto Technomic whose clamp tapers at the bolt quite dramatically - if your stem's got a clamp that is equally wide all the way around, I don't think you'll be able to install the bars at all.

Even with the stem jammed open and covered in grease, I scratched the bars getting them round the first bend (went over with emery paper to completely remove the scratches, which were only as deep as the grain of the material, so no worries about notch-sensitivity and subsequent bar-snapping leading to death)

  • Actually, those Nitto m106's look a lot nicer, and you can't fault Nitto's craftmanship.

Do you know what the drop is like? (ie flats to drops)

  • Also, 25.8 clamp size? thats not standard is it?

  • I put them on last night actually. Apparently (according to Sheldon) 25.8 is a size used by some Italian manufacturers to allow the bars to be installed in either a 26.0 or a 25.4 clamp, presumably without shimming. Mine are in what I think is a 26.0 and seem fine. You can't buy 25.8mm clamp stems very easily I found.

I can measure the drops when I get home for you hugo.

  • ask spotter....

  • Cheers.

I have a ITM ti stem in 25.8mm on my beater, so I'm always curious to hear of bars in that size. FWIW 25.4mm bars fits (as in it works, not a 'good fit' but fine for city riding). Also 26.0mm fits. 26.4mm cinelli's wouldn't work.

  • ask Regal....

Regal was there before Spotter of the 26.0 handlebar vibes, he knows his eggs.

  • So was superjoe.

    yunohumrlonez?

  • Hi Hugo, the bars have a slightly weird shape but the dimension depicted is about 130mm

    Does that help?

  • .

  • That's looking nice! Are those the Bontragers? They have a nice rounded shape, without too much strangeness (those Morpheus look kind of weird to me).

Just ordered a pair myself, should hopefully receive them today.

Love your frame by they way, amazing colour!

  • Thanks. Yes they are the Bontragers. They actually look much more compact/shallow in reality than they do in this picture. Quite pleased with them, just getting used to riding with drop levers on this bike.
