Need to remove a rear cassette, is it rude to go into a bike shop and ask to borrow tools and do on the spot?
Are you asking whether 'we' think it's rude or if the employee/owner of the bike shop will?
The latter depends on how affluent you appear, the bike shop peeps' humour and how nicely you ask.
I don't think its rude but I'm an ex-squatting chancer.
Back when Brixton Cycles were on Coldharbour lane, they would always lend tools and being penniless this was a major plus for me. They also gave good advice and had a free parts bin they'd let you root through.
Fucking hippies!
Even Brixton Cycles aren't like that anymore.
Can you still get 'Cassette Crackers TM'? This would be the cheapest way as you don't need a chain-whip and a adj spanner.
