You just have to catch him in the act and pop him straight in the litter tray with some persuasive words and lots of praise when he finishes his pee in the right place.
If the moment has passed it won't work, he wont associate pee = litter tray. You can't scold though as again, cat's won't associate it unless it is exactly at the right time. I wouldn't scold at all, it might make him think that peeing is a bad thing.
