  • Yeah got it on the mail out. Endura stuff is a bit shit in experience though, so wasn't really tempted

  • I just need a lightweight raincoat, not worth bothering with their Pakalak thingy then?

  • dunno - I've never owned one. I've bought a few bits of their kit and it's either not been very good, or just broken. Purely anecdotal obviously...

I can say that the Gore rain jacket I have is very good - owned for 4 years, still looks and works exactly the same as it did when I bought it.

  • Endura eVENT it actually better than Goretex at the doing the same thing. Plus (maybe) UK made?

    Brand snobbery >>>>>

(actually it's the Rapha thread so carry on)

  • I've got a gore pac-lite jacket and though it's good, actually really good when it's proper cold outside layered with just a single base layer, it's useless in rain if you're working up a sweat.

Heard good things about e-vent too, were I to buy a jacket today I'd go for that

    endura is scottish isnt it

  • Scotland is part of the UK... for the time being

and fwiw - i'm not being a brand snob - the Endura stuff I've bought has all been badly fitting and badly made... some of it has fallen apart alarmingly quickly.

  • I don't think I've ever owned any. The comment was based on reading magazines (I'll go put myself in the bin).

I'm considering using Endura for our clubs next lot of kit.

  • endura is scottish isnt it

Yes and they do make some things in the UK.

  • My Endura jacket is hanging in there- it'll be three this year.

The only real issue that I have with it is that the cut allows for a "prosperous" figure.

If I get one that fits across the shoulders then I could very easily carry a basketball in the stomach area.

  • They do a racefit range of stuff. The samples actually seem nice but a bit pricey (surprisingly).

  • bombber jacket is here, fits perfectly and love it already

  • ^ the first hit off the crack pipe ...

  • Endura has be better than the Tenn raincoat I currently have. I would have spaffed silly money on the Rapha one if they had it in my size. Bullet dodged, means I can spend the money I have saved down the pub on pints of Rattler. Mmmm, Rattler....

Fit for a real man then

I bought a Tenn gilet once. I sent it straight back. Reason for return: It's bollocks and not fit for purpose.

I got a refund with no further questions asked.

  • I'd use that code, if they'd send me one. Signed up for CRC emails a couple of days ago, with an Endura purchase in mind and a hope for a welcome discount code. Haven't received a peep. Ho hum harrumph.

To be fair it was a tenner and I was skint. It's a bit short in the arms but handy to stick on when it's been hammering it down (so most of the time recently) but not breathable at all and when your arm makes contact with the material the water comes through. Looked at some review of the pakalak and they say the same thing. I guess I'll have to spend some proper money to get a lightweight, breathable rain jacket

Or just HTFU and stay wet

  • Forget breathable for even moderate efforts on a bike. Just get one with vents on the back and holes under the arms.

  • Bit disappointed to get the call yesterday that actually, they've sold out of bomber jackets. Sorry we've already got your money! For some (admittedly unfounded) reason I thought their system would be better than Wiggle's.

  • Does anyone have any discount codes knocking about.

My mate is after some bib shorts and I recommended the Rapha ones (I love my cx ones) or Assos (more on others recommendations) and noticed the Rapha Condor Sharp Bib Shorts for £110:

From the description I take it these are the same as the Pro Team bib shorts(?) so a bit thinner than the classics.

  • I think the recent 10% and 20% codes have expired. You could always do this:

That happened to me, but then someone returned one as it was wrong size and I got it

  • ^^ yeh, saw that. Definitely need to convince him of Rapha's virtues now.
