  • Mis-read, nevermind.

I'm surprised you managed to make any sense of my drunken posting!/;)

  • Also, are you sure you want a small one? They really are tiny and have a lot of toe overlap. If you're reasonably comfortable on the large one then a medium would be better for polo.

Would toe overlap be such an issue if I ran MTB front wheel?

  • I guess slightly less so, but I'd imagine it would still be there. I could test it for you if you want, I have a small pomp and a 26" wheel lying around

  • Pomps are designed for 700c, wouldn't go 26" unless you want to make it even more twitchy than it already is

  • I have a large pomp with 26 front end, it actually improves the handling as it makes the head tube a bit steeper.

You want a fork with 410mmish axle-crown and regular of rake 40mmish. But you'll prob need to run a 1.6 tyre or less to avoid toe overlap.

  • I've also got a pomp with 26 front. I like it.

  • Same here, handling feels much better to me. Far less front wheel "flop".

  • So am i right in thinking a Polo bike is just a high gear fixie with narrow bars?

    Anyone got a pic?

  • ignore me i found the 'bike' thread. doooh!

  • Nice. :)

  • Shameless cross thread plug (sorry)...but need to make some room in the house!

I have this Kona cindercone F&F for sale.

    http://www.lfgss.com/thread88832.html

has had track ends fitted but canti posts etc are all still there so would make it perfect polo.
Also a set of bomb proof 26" wheels.

  • £75 for a Kona Hahanna. Bought as a first pollo bike for my girlfriend but its too small. Would make a pretty decent first polo bike/pub bike

  • Selling my mycro and mallet. Can bring to the LO or post at cost (or do collection from Oxford):

    Medium black mycro

    • Only worn a couple of times during winter league, looks brand new (no sweat marks, no rust)
    • £40

    Mallet

    • Blue 3PMH full cheater head (120mm), metten capped on both ends
    • Perro pole (90cm long)
    • Black cushy bar tape
    • Brand new, good for a beginner?
    • £8

  • Can I dibs mallet Caroline? and will recycle slightly tired and emotional one into beginners pool.

  • Potentially interested in the mycro, no idea if it will fit though... Do you know what the size guide is in cm?

  • I'll second dibs the mycro, if that's ok.

    Sure, collect from LO?

The mycro fit me pretty well, and I wear a 51-57cm road helmet, so should be ok if you're in that range?

    Cool, noted.

  • Collection at LO is go! And ta!

  • Cool, will let you know what day I'm down. Are you still looking for a polo steed? I'm selling my mtb/commuter, its not set up for polo atm, but its a dinky size and would be easy to convert to ss.

  • does anyone have an 18 tooth freewheel for sells?

Nice attempt at upselling but I've switched up my Plug Charge to become my polo bike :)

  • I'll be at the LO(probably saturday) and I've got a bauer hockey helmet £40 ono and some raceface knee/half shin pads £15 ono
