  • MD - interesting your comments about kung fu, boxers routinely 'thumb' eyes and you keep your chin down for good reason, infighting though with someone who knows how to throw could definitely be problematic for a boxer.

Some of the fun stuff we do, is box two people at the same time, box with your eyes closed, spin on the spot until dizzy and then box

Boxing is hard on the body. All our boxers suffer with injuries myself included. When I got too old to spa then I think it would be good to take up Kung Fu or perhaps Jeet Kune Do.

It tickles me the idea being an old man that can do Kung Fu

Kung Fu is good, keeps you fit, but flexibility is needed to be able to do kicks etc...

I know boxers can be dirty, but once on the inside, a lot are very square on which is a hell of a lot easier to drop someone to the floor than if they had a stance. Also a boxer tends to lift his chin up once he tries to create distance, and it's very common from what I see.

Where are you based? Sounds like fun. Boxing training alone is so tough, one day I'll like to try it. I am an OK cyclist I feel, but I hate running, so my cardio is pretty bad.
