Umm that's like asking is it common for Hollywood to promote extreme violence towards everyone. It's a friggin picture, not a safety statement!

It's not about the safety. How would you consider someone with a $$$$ bike with no helmet when you see him riding on the road? I'd think "what a tool" before admiring the epicness. Maybe it only shows I'm not the target audience, even if I like their products (which are a bit pricey unfortunately).
