Of copurse she contributed, in the preperation for the event, in the team training, in World Cup and Championship rides, she was an intergral part of the team. I struggled over the use of the word 'arrogant' (hence the 'slightly' preface) but being a athlete means sometimes you get left out. You might not like but it's just part and parcel of being in a team. You don't go to the media and piss and moan about it.
I appreciate what she has done for the team, I appreciate the stage she is at in her career and this is her last Olympics and I also agree it would have been nice for her to get at least one ride in the team. But these decisions aren't based on sentimentality, and I'm sure not on 'marketability', but on pure numbers and performance. GB is nothing apart from scientific. That trio broke the WR 6 times in sucession, you'd be a madman to fiddle with that sort of continuity and consistency.
You do if you've been left out of 'the team' for perhaps no reason other than age or media-friendly rubbish.
If she's putting out the required numbers and part of the team then why was she left out?
Or is she simply lying and they knew she wasn't up to it?
