If her ability is as good as she claimed they could have used her in the second round and all this bad press would have been avoided. It would've been even better in fact as NI would have a medal. So I don't believe this marketable 'wonder team' guff.

I guess my point is that if she wasn't selected it was a performance based decision. I find it highly unlikely that British Cycling are making decisions based on personality.
