Get to Nexus. Based on the Archos 101, the tablets aren't great. Good prices, but the hardware is rather lacking; even the modding communities efforts to improve matters are a bit slow. Mind you, I bought it for £120 and sold it for £80, so I didn't too badly.
For SMS, I like Handcent.
