best bet would be to take an alu track frame out for a canter, if you can get your hands on a built up look, then great if not, we are in the capital city of alu track bikes, you can go in store or try one from someone you know.
Other people's opinions, are other people's opinions, if you want to drop big money on something then best to have something concrete to work from, that suits you, rather than how it feels for others.
Try before you buy, if you like it, and it suits you, nothings lost, if it doesn't then pounds and heartache have been saved.
