And then it rains and they are back to normal again.

A different colour/design would add to the saleability of the new cap(I really can't think of the right word here) and kudos of owning an older one...

That white stuff is salt. If you let it build up enough you can scratch it off and have it on your chips, proper recycling.

The point is to use the four and a half miles of ribbon that has already been produced. Change the ribbon colour and there will be another minimum of 10 miles that has to be ordered.
