Could just pick up one of these Graham Weigh F+F+HS off EBay for 199 squid.
It has rack and guard mounts. So you can use it as a commuter/audax type bike when not CX-ing. I used to throw mine around mountain trails, and mount 45mm studded tyres for the winter. Super versitile frame. If it had disc tabs I'd be ordering a replacement now.
