Very sad. I found out on local media so it is being picked up. All my thoughts go to family and friends.

Sad to think how many of those texts are flying around tonight. Even sadder to think that some of them won't be answered.

Oh no, R.I.P.

I happend to cycle pass the Olympic Media center at Russels Square today for the first time. I also had the impression that the drivers of the "olympic busses" weren't - lets put it mildy y - too confident. I had one bus in front of me which drove overly slowly and was not indicating at all. Might be a concidence, but the driver was nothing compared to the TfL-pros.

Holy vrap. That was so sad to read. Thoughts for the family and the rider. Poor guy who saw it, that will mess your head up.

it worries me when that text to say shes arrived comes late,
my heart goes out to those who may not recieve that text at all tonight..

The eyewitness text seems too composed given the circumstances and I wouldn't be surprised if it was made it up just to shock people. I think Velocio has presented it correctly.

RIP. My GF was shattered when I spoke with her as I didn't pick up the phone over last 2 hours, I am 30 and this happened just round the corner from where I live.

This really hit me to think about how his friends and family would feel.

I dont think we can judge this - some people react completely differently to shock.

It is so so sad. Whatever your view on the guys statement is - I hope we all could do the same in the circumstances.

horrible to read this. fact the guy is my age, riding not a million miles from where i ride makes it feel even worse fpr me in a self referential sort of way.sort of there but for the grace of god go I.

That Reddit account of what happened (if it is true) is horrible, just hurrendous.
