Sad to think how many of those texts are flying around tonight. Even sadder to think that some of them won't be answered.

This. I just sent my mate the same message more or less. He's at the Olympic Park today and probably rode there. He's fine (just been screaming at Wiggins under the BBC balcony). But it's what we're all thinking and someone's getting the worst news ever about now.

Terrible news.

RIP rider.

According to the Telegraph the rider was on a white and silver road bike.

The roads round the park are utterly, utterly cyclist un-friendly.
