  • Right - two episodes in and so far we've had Eddy, Gary F, Gary K and Brave.

What do we think - good show or shameless bandwagon jumping?

  • they had some pretty appalling interview with Gary Fisher and Graeme Obree in LMNH. Really failed to get the best out of both of them.

Obree would be best interviewed in a workshop talking about his bikes and how he builds and designs them.

Gary Fisher would probably be best interviewed talking about how mtb'ing and his business had developed over the years. Instead they just had a pretty awkward stilted conversation and I switched off.

  • bit shit I reckon & trying too hard to be 'cool'-
    megavalanche looks a laugh though!

  • that downhill race in the alps looked great
more stuff like that would be great

i'm less keen on the fashion discussions

  • Clearly.

  • oh yeah you saw my swish cycling kit in trafalgar sq. that time
    fashionable sod ain't i

i spend all my money on my bikes
what littles left gets spend in oxfam on cut off cords ! £3 a pair

  • Whatever flicks your switch.

  • no one will look as daper as you milk tray man !

  • I thank you.

  • I think it's a good idea, and was clearly thought of before the recent boost in cycling in the media.
It just all seems very rushed to me. And not a lot of thought seems to go into the interviews. Watching the Mansell and Obree interview was painful!

What I dont understand is why they film everything on the sunday, and then rush an edit together to be aired on the following day. It just seems like a dumb way to do things to me, and i think it shows in the poor quality of the show.

I think it could be good if they put a bit more effort & though into things. And fairplay to Anna. I assume that was her first bit of proper TV work, and she did pretty good, I think. Although they should have gone into more detail than they did for the Mega Avalanche segement. I was in Alpe d'Huez when it was on, and the true atmosphere didn't really come accross in the show.

Also, mega lolz at the presenter calling Casper 'Jasper' in the first episode!

  • this is going to be harsh, but I'm assuming the budget is low so good effort in making the show, interview set ups looked awkward, unmatched cameras… using the main cam on interviewer and a second cam on merxx was wrong choice, they should have referenced that they couldn't show any of the race in the road race feature and made a joke of it rather than the having the odd raceless race feature. The editing of the two main features was very studenty, as said above didnt really get into the story… it was just intro, manic music montage and vox pops… camera work on alp d'huez feature was amazing, just edited a bit too randomly. Camerawork on road race feature not so much. The link into bike fitting from the charity guys was painfully forced… bike fit feature was really good, anyway good second show, hope the budget is upped for the hour long version.

  • It's only twenty two minutes long anyway.

  • It is moving up to an hour in September which will be a lot better. One problem has been the lack of time for interviews. This should be resolved.

It has the promise of being a really good programme.

  • I'm surprised we've not seen you lurking in the background.

  • But then Lizzie Armitstead hasn't been on yet.

  • I'm surprised we've not seen you lurking in the background.

    They cut that bit.

  • But then Lizzie Armitstead hasn't been on yet.

That's when General Lucifer gets on a train and escapes his northern post industrial hell hole.

  • I'm aware they have a budget of about 10p but.......

Generally I think there trying to be Hip and Trendy rather than trying to get to the nuts and bolts of cycling. The Interviews are at a level most 12 year old would be proud of not supposed professionals.

The bleed over of sound from the Cafe is appalling and it could do with some glass screens to try and reduce the background noise whilst still involving the audience.

I think I'd sum up saying fantastic concept, needs a lot of improvement....

    Rant over.

  • You call that a rant?!

  • I'm restraining from a full on rant because one not so good cycling show is still better than none.....

  • Fair comment.

  • i think the chink of coffee cups and mick farting in the background adds to the programme

  • Where's Digger when this is happening?

Is he busy keeping the guests calm?

  • boom mic's don't hold themselves ?

  • I didn't really like the first one, Look Mum No hand was too noisy. The second one was good. Gary Kemp's interview was good and Anna was awesome. It will be one hour long from 13 August (not September). I think.
