  • Looking good... The bars and stem are yours, I'm never gonna use them. (use a corkscrew to take the end plugs out, they are only old wine bottle corks.
If you like the feel of the cotton tape there's a store called Velomondo Motzstrasse 12, they sell it cheaper than most places in Berlin (I think it was 2 euros or 1.50 if you buy a roll of 10) and can order any colour. p.s. nice meeting you, sorry it was quick was running late.

Nice meeting you as well. And thanks for the bars. I'll be sure to check out Velomondo if I decide to go for cloth.

Both no. 3 and 5 are gonna be really difficult, trying to match the colour on tape, saddle and frame, I mainly included them just to see what it would look like.

I think I'm leaning towards no. 2 with cinelli caleido as the black bar tape. I just think it would be a really nice subtle detail, also I think that it looks just a bit more cohesive than with the yellow bar tape.

One thing I'm also wondering about are brake levers. My initial thought was to get drops with a cross lever for the front brake. However I wanted drops for a different hand position (on the corners, vertical 2nd example) compared to risers (horizontal, 1st example). Which means that to brake I would have to move my hands, which kind of defeats the purpose of having a brake for emergencies. Or I would end up just riding with my hands on the middle of the bars, which would basically be the same riding position as risers, which is what I'm trying to avoid.

So I'm contemplating if I should get road levers. I realise that it's kind of a strange combination together with a track frame, but I think it actually works quite well on superjoe's bridgestone fx.

And thanks for all your comments so far, they've been a great help :)
