the director and floor manager needed to HTFU and shut people up
It's got nothing to do with the floor manager though. There was a film crew who had reserved a space to film a show on a day where they knew it was going to be very loud. If they wanted a crowd full of people who would be loud when and only when they wanted. They should've hired the whole cafe and filled it with people they could tell what to do. From the cafe point of view it's not a great way of showing how valued their custom is by telling them to be quiet because despite regularly giving your money to the place for quite a long time, it would be appreciated if they could shut up so that this film crew who are here for a day can get their filming done.
If you want the crowd to pander to your every whim, hire the whole cafe and sell tickets to be in the audience. If not, accept that there will be a lot of background noise (it's London's biggest cycling cafe on the final day of the Tour de France where a Briton is going to win it for the first time in history, use your fucking head) and deal with it.
Or am I the only one who thought that?
P.S. Hope the show does well, but it won't do so without quite a few improvements.
