Just back from Paris. It was bloody brilliant being on the Champs Élysées for the finish with the massive British contingent giving it full gas all day. The singing before the riders came through got a little bit 'football' at one point but once the laps started it was just a huge roar when the Sky train came through each time.
The gap looked pretty big with three to go but by the last time past us it was obvious it was coming back together.
Then it fell beautifully silent as they disappeared off back down the road and we tried to decipher the live French commentary on the tannoys. Those last few minutes were agony trying to picture what was happening through the tunnel, across the Place de la Concorde, and round the last corner. And then it came: The roar for Cav's win raced up the boulevard almost as fast as the Manxman himself and we were left in no doubt.
Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant.
