  • Literally if there was a problem with Brad tomorrow the entire peloton would carry him over the line. No GC contender would consider winning like that

You never know, Brad could end up doing a Scoble on his Randos, and even the fairest competitor would lose patience.

  • Whole audio of post stage press conference

    This is an inspiring listen

Good stuff. Seems the significance of what he's about to achieve hasn't hit home with even himself. Well, it's bloody wonderful Bradley. Really looking forward to tomorrow.

  • Bradley Wiggins at Hearne Hill, Good Friday, 2003 (from here)

    Young and innocent!

  • I <3 Bradley.

Also, cracking prediction from Boardman re: British Cycling on the ITV highlights I just watched, something like:

'I think this could even herald the return of the bicycle to popularity and being used again as a form of transport'

I don't agree. I don't know what the rest of you guize think.

    Try ESPN. Far better.

Thanks. Will check out if it's on the Hotel tv. Such an awesome day. Hope Cavendish cleans up tomorrow.

  • David Brailsford's plans, a year ago.

“My great goal is to try and make road cycling a part of British culture,”

He also talks about long-term projects, presumably keeping riders beyond a the usual couple of seasons.

Thought my photostream had got a bit busy today, 260+ hits on this photo today :D
Brit one/two for the TDF history in the making :D

My local youth crits are busy with keen kids, they've all got turbos but I don't think any of them ride to school/college. That shit's dangerous.

  • For me as a pathetic spectateur, the best stage, and by best I mean the stage with climbs and flats and team dynamics, was the stage that first saw Bradley Wiggins defend his jersey and Marc Madiot shout Pinot to the finish. If you have time, it's well worth a rewatch

  • An awesome snap

  • Try ESPN. Far better.

ESPN only has the open :( I love golf but I've had the tv on the whole time waiting for a snippit and the best I got was a couple of words on the ticker at the bottom.

  • Radio 4 news opened with "Bradley Wiggins....." No mention of golf, and even the flat full of bombs in Colorado had to wait till this momentous occasion was reported!

  • Cavendish proved he's number 1 an incredible 9 times yesterday. Don't believe me? Check for yourself:

    Start time: 11:11

    Finish time: 06:58 after Wiggo's excellent 1:04:13 or 1:11:11.

    How spooky is that!!!???

  • Whilst on the subject of Cav, I think he may have just been fed a piece of his own arse!

    From his twitter feed:

3 muscles make up the buttocks: Gluteus minimus, gluteus medius & gluteus maximus. After today's TT, I have none. Ripped them to shreds

Even if the yellow jersey hadn't been enough to ride 3 weeks for, @teamskychef's burgers definitely were!

is that correct, start at 11:11 then took 1 hour 11min 11 sec. Can"t wait for Olympic Road Race.

  • Latter paragraph makes sense to the layman, but why the rule in para one? What is the logic?

UCI equipment regulations have no logic, they just make them up.

  • Just ask Graeme Obree.

  • Why do riders shove cotton wool/tissue paper up their noses when they are warming up? I feel that I might be missing a crucial marginal gain...

  • There's Olbas Oil on the cotton wool.

  • So who else is already getting all emotional?

We have a British winner of Le Tour!

Bradley Wiggins has actually done it!

  • His post ride interview was very touching. His description of thinking about family members in the last 15km and how his life so far has culminated in yesterday's effort.

  • What is the logic?

The "UCI Logic" is that they wanted to ban Superman, but couldn't be arsed to spend just two minutes pondering the consequences of writing the rule as an absolute number rather than a proportion. Same with the 5cm saddle setback. In UCI-land, every rider is proportioned exactly as Vitruvian man and is exactly 1.75m tall.

Quite moved by the whole idea. Yesterday at the oval test match the winners of the saturday fancy dress competition was a group dressed as team sky with a bloke in yellow jersey and side burns.

  • Fantastic to have a British winner of the TDF. Congrats to Wiggins & Team Sky.

  • Come on wiggins you lovely man!!!!!!!!!!
