Cheers.

Quite like the Beet-It, but it doesn't seem to make much difference to my performance. I see last week's comic was recommending tomato juice, so between the Big Tom and the Beet-It, James White must be making shed loads of money from cyclists.

I rode on aero bars for the first time in aaaages tonight. It was fun. Traffic lights not so much, though.

Ended up doing 25.32 in the end, so only a 9 second improvement. Went up to a 90'' gear this time.

How did it feel? That gear would be spot on for me doing that kind of time (87rpm), but ymmv

Felt good, think I'll stick with it. I was lazy on the return leg, didn't really push myself

Commentators mentioned this kind of thing wasn't allowed during the Tour. It's ok in CTT races then?

Disc cover performance is virtually identical to disc wheels through the entire range of yaw angles: 0-30 degrees.
But none of Dat Rumble. What's the above photo about, the strapping down of aero helmets?

I actually own a HED disc but I've never ridden it.
All I can hear when riding is wind rush and a little voice saying 'slow down dick head, this hurts, we could be at the pub'.
His helmet is strapped to his torso.

To Hippy. Good luck for the 24!
I'm surprised to be able to get in first with this.

Is he riding today?
Good luck hippy. Don't take any wrong turns.

Alright, well best of luck for those 24hrs.
Looking forward to reading about it.

Thanks guys. I probably should stop 'winning' my commutes now, right?

I think the best preparation between now and Saturday would be to stay in bed.

I'd love that but I'm not sure work would agree.

Best of luck Hippy, I look forward to hearing that you have won the 24 on Monday.

That's assuming he's finished by Monday.

Good lick mate, don't get lost.
Just back from my first solo TT of the year (a bit late thanks to broken wrist) and managed a 24:20. Quite windy tonight. Fastest time was a long 21 when they're usually in the 20's.
Think I've found the right position, possibly lose the spacer under the stem. This position gives me a nice flat back without large amounts of stretch in the arms.

Just how long will he take for the 24, I wonder?
Influence of acute dietary nitrate supplementation on 50 mile time trial performance in well-trained cyclists.

"In conclusion, acute dietary supplementation with beetroot juice did not significantly improve 50 mile TT performance in well-trained cyclists."
