  • If you're respraying then you should check how long people recommend you wait on building so the paint has time to cure.

Have you decided to go for matt black in the end?

  • sanding and painting begins tomorrow :)

    wait. first.

  • Bold move to sand a carbon frame (has this been said already?). Is there any reason not to just spray over the top of it rather than sand it before painting?

  • im not sanding it all the way down, im sanding it lightly so the paint will stick better.

matte black. having the decals made up tomorrow.

  • nooooo stickers !!

  • you're going to make it heavier

  • @ dan .. I'm guessing the build will be form > function

  • oswald, you couldn't be more wrong.

    postman brought more goodies today.

just waiting on the BB and bar tape!

  • all that money on expensive, light components and you're adding all the weight back on with paint.. oh dear

  • are you joking? we're talking like 100g here.

i rode a gangsta track for over a year before this. with bombproof heavy parts. i think il cope.

  • I don't think I would repaint it, but that's more from laziness and fear of doing anything to a carbon frame, but I think it should look pretty mean.

  • Not sure if you've mentioned it before, but did it fit you perfect? I mean you tried it out right?

  • are you joking? we're talking like 100g here

Which is more then half the difference between a full Sram Red and a full Sram Force groupset ! ..

  • I'd leave as is.

  • Fuck the haterz.
Do whatever you want with it.
But you should really buy some gloss black Enve decals for the wheels.

  • ....

Its not exactly a rare or unique frame so I don't see much problem with painting it. Altho it looks pretty no offensive to me I think Matt will look good (albeit a bit like Chinese carbon).

The thing I'm wondering looking at the frame, is why you don't just sand back the top coat and remove the decals? I'd be tempted to remove all but the down tube, but even so could you not just take them all off and then leave, or Matt clear coat?

  • I'm more concern whether the bike actually fit him before stripping it.

if it doesn't fit him - he already lost a bit of resell value.

  • Change the fucking record, Ed.

You post that comment in every fucking thread on here, then post pictures of your own Frankenstein's monster bikes.

  • Google image search show this up.

  • Not enough spacers.

  • With those bar Andy, we don't need spacers.

  • if it doesn't fit him - he already lost a bit of resell value.

That would only make sense if he was restricted to selling to his identical (-ly proportioned) twin brother / clone.

  • I'm more concern whether the bike actually fit him before stripping it.

Are you actually concerned, Ed? If you are, then you need to get out more, and if you aren't then you shouldn't waste space typing that.

Why assume that everyone knows so little about bikes that they can't even buy a frame without your bikefit input? It's retarded and patronising.

  • Because it was not intended to come out like that.

I'm merely saying that it would be wise to try it out first.

  • Change the fucking record, Ed.

    thank you.

and just to satisfy ed's curiosity, of course it fucking fits. but if it doesn't , i guess il have a hard time trying to sell it to you, because as you said, I've lowered the resale value....sigh

spent like 3 hours carefully sanding the frame this evening. fuck i never want to see sandpaper ever again.

primer going on in the morning, then sanding, first coat of paint later on....

decals being made up tomorrow as well...

now if wiggle would just deliver my bottom bracket.....
