I'm not sure I watched the same race. Cadel attacked.

I wasn't saying Cadel was struggling, just that I've been hearing all week how well BMC were doing looking after him, and that Sky weren't doing the same for Wiggo, but the team effort from Sky today was imposing and powerful. We saw the same in the Dauphine, were Cadel looked isolated on the climbs and Wiggins had 2 or 3 team members around him.
Great to see Froome in the KoMs jersey too, hope he keeps it.

The title of this article doesn't match the main body of the article, or is that just me?

Hippy would consider it insufficiently patriotic.

didnt know he was that old :
The Victorian accelerated with 1500m and clearly had Wiggins covered, but Froome came off his leader's wheel to reel in Evans.

I wasn't saying Cadel was struggling...
I was responding to Lello's comment about Evans not needing his team mates to climb with today. His attack didn't stick, suggesting he could have done with all available climbing support.

Fixed.

caught the last hour or so of this. top stuff, good to see the sky boys showing their faces finally! and the most exciting finish of the tour so far if you ask me.
evans looked really strong, i don't know if wiggo could have clung on to two BMC riders if the situation was reversed

I though Wiggins looked really comfortable

If he was really, really comfortable he'd have gone FTW, no? Great performance though. Can't fault that if he keeps it up.

Put Evans in his place there, what a finish.
What, 2nd on GC? I'm sure he's real upset about that.

Cadel won last year without most of his team around him.
Going well for Cadel, no problemo..

He's not Victorian. Whoever wrote that article is on crack.

It's easy to momentarily pull away from Nibali as he just isn't an explosive rider. On the longer climbs he will be much harder to beat.

First Kenyan Tour stage win?

Wiggins is excellent at maintaining a high speed at a regular 'diesel' cadence - generally speaking, he doesn't jump like Evans can. Froome has that ability, therefore he took the stage rather than conceding it to Evans.
Wiggins' consistent pace is his strength and his weakness. He can use it to gradually grind others off his pace, a la Indurain, but if a brilliant specialist climber attacks him with sharp bursts of speed he is open to attack. That's why he kept pace when Evans shot off and allowed his lieutenant to mop up the win.Perfectly executed.

The result of a Ginsters tie-in. Much more glamorous and apt than Sky.
Only the second Tour I've paid attention to, and it's compulsive. I'm still in the 'How can they ride so far, so quickly, so regularly?' stage. I see them do it, on the TV, while Phil and Paul trade double-negatives. Motivated, I ride my bike, certain if I relax into the serene state they appear in before it all tips overboard, then I'll ride just like them. But I don't. It's impossible.
It's all about containment, winning. It'll not be easy to shake Evans. He just never gives up.

you sure that's not just been taken with the photo-finish camera?
Cadel didn't need his team for the final climb today and would have told them to take it easy and save themselves for the big climbs later in the race. I reckon he was happy to let sky do the work today. At one point I though froome and Cadel were going to ride away from wiggo.
