  • I was told yesterday by the ticket inspector at Sutton station that while the Olympics are on there will be a complete ban on taking bikes on trains, not just during peak hours. Obviously that's because every single train in London over August and September is going to be ram packed full of people heading to Stratford. Or, as is most likely, not.

    This has completely screwed me for Sunday morning track training. As there are no direct trains to Herne Hill early on Sunday mornings I usually have to get a train to West Norwood and ride the last couple of miles. Not sure I fancy walking from Norwood or riding 9 miles each way with all my kit on top of doing a load of sprint efforts.

    Does anyone know if this is a network wide thing or just Southern railways and is it worth complaining about? Seems a tad excessive to me.
