Brixton Cycles has a big box of Sidi spares, I got a replacement buckle from them after I smashed one.

Can anyone suggest a full-face cycle helmet that won't make me look like a COMPLETE plank in the city, or cause me to boil in my own sweat come summer time?
My recent and ongoing experience with facial lacerations and reconstructive surgery, as fun as it is, has me feeling rather paranoid about it happening again.

No.Trade-offs, only you can decide what's more important to you.
Also, my limited observations suggest that the folk I see commuting in full-face helmets are remarkably unaware of their surroundings. Whilst it may be the case that they're naturallly unaware, I get the impression that full-face helmets can act like blinkers. -

still a bit plank-like, but as good as you'll get.

Giro Switchblade is nice, do they still make them? I used one to save face once, knocked out cold but without a scratch.

Don't think so, sadly.
All of the full-face-lite helmets seem to have people saying they won't protect properly in a faceplant, or the chin bar will explode into a million pieces of shrapnel. The Specialized Deviant looked ok but is apparently made like shit. The Casco Viper looked promising but some people say the chin guard sits very close and makes breathing hard.
I've been looking at the Urge Down-O-Matic - a rad-looking full downhill lid - but I suspect it's rather full-on for summer commuting.
As for them acting like blinkers, that can be overcome by LOOKING, surely. Maybe more indicative of the people wearing them, generally!

Sure a full face is much much more protective but the rider is much less likely to crash when you have much better awareness of what is around you.

Lock 7 at the start of Broadway Market should do.

But bike / motorbike accidents are generally due to people not seeing you, not the other way around. Nobody with any sense rides a motorbike with an open face helmet in traffic.

We do.
And just like with push bikes, being aware of the incompetent traffic around you is the best way to avoid it.

I haz a lacrosse helmet that you can have for the cost of postage:
You will still look like a plank but as lacrosse is a summer sport they are relatively cool.

Will I be able to upgrade from Sugino Messenger to Sugino 75 without changing my BB?
-

It's a bit far fetched to go for a full face helmet after an odd crash.
The issue is the illusion of safety and this ride as you usually would but with a full face helmet instead for lessen visibility.
Give your bike a proper check, check the brake and try and put a lots of stress on it and see what happen etc.

Does anyone have a discount code for sonic cycles? I got one from my previous order but now I cant find it.

DFP have it spot on, you can avoid such collision from happening by being aware and prepared for the unexpected.
I.e. riding through a heavy congested traffic in a high street; you'd ride slower than you would to reduced the likelihood of getting hit by says, a peds crossing the road.
