Lewis knew his tyres were gone and he knew it, he wanted to keep Maldonado behind him for a lap and a half who had much better tyres. We all know that wasn't happening, look at Kimi in China, 2nd to 8th in a lap with bad tyres. He should've cut his losses like he's done all season and play for points, not for the win. It was that attitude that had him at the top of the table before this race.
