The D4 was announced in January and began rolling out in Feb but didn't get in to most peoples hands until March. That said, the D600 will sell like fucking hot cakes so expect them to be hard to find.
Apparently the factories in Thailand will be producing them (as apposed to Japan where the D800 & D4 are made) which is a hint that they intend to make loads of the buggers.
Probably not going to be as metallic as the D7000 in order to keep the cost down and might not have as much sealing etc.
