Cycle Cameras / Helmet Cams (GoPro, Drift, Veho, Contour, Fly6, Fly12, SJCAM, Apeman, 1080p, etc.)

which go pro package is best for cycling? would probably want to mount it to bag straps for commuting, and possibly head cam for mtb.

how resilient are they? does the case tend to take the impacts and just need replacing (really hoping this pertains to mtb use)

There are lot of mounts for the GoPro - so you could mount it on the stem, bars, forks, frame (depending on tubing diameter), wrist, chest, helmet, head etc. However, I'm not sure how you'd get it on bag straps though. The chest mount might be an alternative, if you can't bodge it. For commuting, I use a roll-bar mount, beneath my stem.

The cases are tough in my experience (waterproof too) and they protect the camera well. I've dropped the cam on the floor at home a few times without the housing and it is still fine. If the housing does get borked, you can just get another.

A Contour would be another good choice.
