  • I don't think it's wrong to weigh yourself every day though. As you say hydration can change your weight, so surely having 7 recordings in a week will give you a better idea of the overall average than one, because that one day could be an anomaly and give you a false idea of whether you're going up or down.

Also my weekend readings are usually higher because I'm more likely to have been out drinking and eating late at night so if I'd only been seeing them I wouldn't know that during the week I'm often half a kg lighter.

  • As long as the pants are slack Ed!

  • I did 8 weeks of hypertrophy type gym work to try and put weight on.

I ate A LOT, but not nearly enough to create calorie surplus required for growth I was aiming for. The eating right part is fupping hard.

In the end I ended up losing weight!! FFS!

  • If you can be bothered describe your diet, calorie intake and the kind of training you were doing.

  • Zed you're supposed to lift the weights when weight training, not drop them on your head, maybe if you try that you'll have more success ;)

    73.6kg this evening.

90km run in 9 days, feel surprisingly fresh!

I'm going to have to work this off tmw.
Was a stupid idea in the first place, tbh, and now I feel doubly disappointed as its all wasted calories. All 3k+ of them.

On a positive note: final vo2max today- 60 reached. Fuck yeah.

  • Looks like an awesome idea, shame it tasted crap.

Had two jalfrezis for dinner tonight was literally starving and didn't want rice or naan.

    Insanely hot but v good!

73kg when I got home, bike ride to or row and a half marathon on sunday!

  • I'm going to attempt my first 13miler tmw or Sunday.
Was 69kg fully clothed when i left the house, now 71.5kg...
    FUCK.

Fast days over the weekend (less than 500cal/day) should solve it.

Just think, could've had a litre of Baileys instead...

  • Good to read about some big wins in the thread! I haven't weighed myself since getting here some 3 months ago, but with 3 months left and only 9 weeks until R&R things are looking and feeling good.

Functional strength increasing, putting in work on the spinner ready for when I get home and a move to the Durham dales and a couple of planned events, and basically kicking ass on a daily basis.

The epic Ramadan weight cut approacheth.. in 50C it's not going to be pretty but I'm going to get with the program and hang out with my host nation brothers :D

    QUADS LIKE GODS

  • Back to an appropriate weight this morning.
    Still feel shit.

Better news is HR is back to the normal of c. 42.
Last night it was going mental.

  • i have fallen off the wagon in a big way going up to 15 stone.....got back in to regular booze. But made the 1st step in joining a gym for the 1st time ever, Went today 20 min run 2000meters on the rower, and a few weights, i quite enjoyed it.

  • I'm back on the wagon too. 15st 3lbs down 2lbs this week.

now I'm back to commuting full time (no travelcard) though I'm getting daily exercise so it's easier to maintain a calorie deficit in order to lose weight so with some judicious calorie counting I should drop the stone I gained after my accident pretty sharpish (i hope).

  • Good luck HB, the thing that got me was the booze and lost track of my food intake. Lots of snacking + booze not a good mix

  • Now down to 115kg - was 134kg just under 2 months ago.

  • Nice work. Same as me except I'm up 5kgs.

  • I haven't been on this thread before. But as a fellow fat fighter I'd like to say well done all!
I'm sure it's been mentioned before but as I can't be bothered to read the preceding 89 pages I'm just going to say it here.
Does anyone else use the "myfitnesspal" app? It's great. Since starting using it last october I've lost a reasonable amount and am still losing weight. I started at 106.5kgs and am now down to 93kg. I've always done quite a lot of cycling so the only difference is what I'm eating, or rather, not eating.

  • I think quite a few use it. I'm not at the moment but did when I dropped 12kgs over 4 months back at the start of the year.

  • ^^yep alot use it i think, its good measure of what your putting in and for me helps me think alot more of what im eating / drinking

  • I've started using the app again - fell off the wagon but now I'm well and truly back on it. Still allowing myself a treat now and again but so long as it falls within the daily limits it doesn't matter.

  • Just downloaded the app and bought a set of bathroom scales.

My commute went from 25 miles a day to just over 15mile a day about 4 months ago and it is beginning to show.
I need to do something about what my father in law has described as my 'needless rubber ring of flubber round the belt line'.

I guess I am tipping the 12 stone mark and NEED to drop 1 1/2, ideally drop 2.

  • Also need new batteries for my scales which sucks.

  • Am really pleased with the results over the past 2 months I've been on this diet but it takes a tonne of willpower. I don't mind though because once I'm off phase 1 I can start introducing more 'real' food.

In terms of calories I'm on about 600 a day and have been for nearly 2 months now. It's entirely doable (with medical advice - saw a doctor before starting and have had blood tests). On paper you'd look at 600 calories a day and laugh at it being impossible to function on such a small amount but I actually have more energy now than when I was almsot 3 stone heavier 2 months ago.

Basically in terms of calorie intake it's very similar to the diet that was in the press not so long ago that reversed type 2 diabetes in the majority of a test group up in Newcastle. No natural sugars (fruit is out unfortunately at least for phase 1), no starchy vegetables or carbs. The calorie and food type restrictions causing the pancreas and liver to expel / consume stored fat.

£235 a month! Is that because he couldn't afford to eat!
