I don't think whatever one's stance on the helmet wearing thing anyone thinks that compulsory helmet wearing is a good thing. It's a personal choice and all the evidence shows that if you make it compulsory it puts people off cycling. It's a worrying trend.
I had a number of emails after signing up for the competition without unsubscribe links, which is actually illegal. I could have reported the organisers to the Information Commissioner. Perhaps they ought to prioritise complying with existing legislation before they start enforcing things like t-shirt and helmet wearing which are not statutory requirements.
