• you can just import it in to trails from the url, no?

  • OK that's a start thanks. I really have No Clue how to start this.

  • Please note that the current listed Garmin route is the previous route.
I haven't published the tweaked version yet as I still need to do the recce.

  • Just realised I'll be on a plane that day. Bugger

    The slower group: 100k

Sociably paced 15 average with "comfort breaks" if/when required.
    No one will be dropped.
If you like a nice ride with good company and the occasional chat this is the one for you.

Sub 3 hours out, no wee stops.
6pt reckons he could do it 19–20mph average solo so we'll be looking to improve on that as a group. I will also endeavour to teach him that his choice of unit is inferior.
People doing the fast ride one way will be frowned upon (unless they happen to carry on for a solo century warm down).

OK ta. Still don't really get what to do anyway, might just buy a couple of OS maps and get to know the route in a way I understand.

I don't ride in shitty weather though so expect me to stay firmly in bed if it's not glorious sunshine

  • I'm out. The pending legal action against me is making me lose sleep and feel quite ill. I'm not touching a bike or performing a ride beyond very comfortable limits until it's over as I've experienced accidents in the past when I've been exhausted, sleep deprived and stressed. It probably won't be resolved before this... so I'm out.

  • VB
Wierdly I had a feeling that you would feel forced to bail on this ride, was looking forward to seeing you, so I'm sure I'm not alone in saying this: sorry to hear it.

Hope you're getting some good assistance from the lawyers. Can't really believe that this is happening to you. I wonder if dooks' contacts have been any good to you?

  • I'm afraid that I cannot discuss the legal action in any way whilst it's ongoing.

    A dull response I know.

I'd also appreciate a lack of speculation on the site as I am in no position to confirm or deny anything that is said and may not have even read statements made on here in which my silence might be construed to have meaning when it wouldn't.

  • Rhetorical question really, but thanks for being clear about shutting the f up.

  • Sorry to hear that Velocio.

Dov, great work. I expect half the riders to bail if it's shitty weather.

  • but thanks for being clear about shutting the f up.

And thanks Velocio for shuffling the thread up (as some people here are number order sensitive)

  • good programme on Radio4 this morning about Turing's work on code breaking and computer design. Prob on listen again/iPlayer if anyone's interested

  • Turing popped up in the Robert Rankin book I was reading last night.

  • any relation to shabba?

  • Turing popped up in the Robert Rankin book I was reading last night.

    Rhyming slang?

I reckon it's a euphamism - all that popping up stuff

  • Hello everyone!
i would be up to the tour! Can I go? Though i'm a new and unexperienced naive chic?
I guess the slower group is appropriate to me, as i'm not sure in my abilities yet. ;) Nor in the mph meanings... (can u tell me how fast is 15 mph? is it really slow?:S (Im more home in kmph...)
    Thanks

  • Em, have you had any thoughts on when to go for a recce yet?

  • Also out. RHCP live at Knebworth that day....

  • Em, have you had any thoughts on when to go for a recce yet?

Yes but I'd obviously forgotten to PM you.
    How's Monday sound?

  • Sounds good.

  • Done and done. 6pt is coming too.

so he knows when to ride the attack?

  • Presumably to identify the parts of the ride when he's going to make the fast group suffer as opposed to the bits were he's really going to make usthem suffer.
