It also worth noting that it may be necessary to obtain the bagman (or similar) saddle rack to keep it stablised with a heavy load.
the smaller the Carradice, the better - it force you to take what's necessary.

I do believe now be a good opportunity for me to remind you that Southwark Cyclists accepts no liability. You are responsible for your selves.
I for one will not be fishing anyone's sorry ass out of the sea, rescuing you from wild horses or scooping you off the road. Is that clear?
I might however, have some TCP and/or washproof plasters for grazed limbs. I will also have my phone on throughout the night so can be reached in an emergency.

Can I suggest going North to Norwich (about 10 miles) and then get the cross country, some are direct, to Manchester from there? It will be a hell of a lot easier than going south via Ipswich/Liverpool Street ...

As this is going to be my first DD I have a few questions.
What time do poeple normally start appearing at London Fields? I'm tryoing to work out which train to get down and also I know there is no set start time but generally what time do the majority set off? -

We left really late last year around 10 but I'd like to leave much earlier this year so I can ride in more of a group.

Jason from VC Norwich is coming down on the train that arrives at 17.55, I'm meeting him at the station and riding over. Possibly with Scoble, if we eat beforehand.

Blimey, the bookies are pessimistic about you making it to Dunwich.

That look awesome.
I think I can quickly build up a fixed wheel tourer on time, and riding it on the DD.
Just like last year.

are you serious?
I might join you, except I just got a framebag so automatically loose all HHSB points.

No, I'm not crazy.
I mean there's nowhere to carry food in that pic, really I'm going to put my basket on.

womwomwomwomwomwom for 100 miles.

I think I may need a frame bag as my water bottles are attached to my saddle. Either that or stuff my pockets full of flapjacks...
-
• #699
If I go fixed I'm going to have bottle cages in the normal places with zip ties + electrical tape to protect the paint, that way I can still take my saddlebag. I guess it might not work so well with your Giant though.
