I was exaggerating a little. I don't really keep track, but I think I eke out about 8 to 10 shaves from a Feather (only shave twice a week), but I've done longer when not being particularly fussed about closeness during periods of self-loathing. It would still be the same if I was shaving more often, as I'd get away with a 1 or 2 pass shave.
Feathers are the sharpest, but also hold their edge very well. Derbys were too blunt for me from the off. Scare stories about Feathers put me off for a while, especially in my 'weapon' of choice - a slantbar - but have still been the best out of those I trialled (about 8 different types in a sample pack from Connaught Shavint).
If you get on well with Derbys, I can chuck you a box (I think they call this 'paying it forward' in shaving internet geek speak, but I wouldn't really know). When I say box, I mean box of 100 or whatever. When I say 'chuck you', I mean gratis.
