A micron is considerably larger than a skin cell for example. Small is just a relative term. I might be coming across as pedantic, but I'm just saying it's not meaningless just because you can't see it.

Because the image you linked to suggested so. I don't have any studies on the matter. I'm more than happy to change my opinion if there's some data showing one way or the other.

I can see it (it's up there) but the authors themselves said the image was on such a scale that the difference wouldn't be noticeable.
