it's not as close a shave but chicks love my 5'oclock shadow and I found there was more irritation with razors than electric unless I waited too long (3-4 days) before doing an elec shave.
Daily electric shave for me takes about 1-2mins, razor was longer as I only shaved in the shower and then struggled to get everything with no mirror so I'd have to go back to bits.
Never noticed any buildup of anything except hair which I never bother to clean out and don't care about. Razors included blood and pimple pus and hair so aren't much better.
