I would paint the rim, i painted both of mine and it turned out great, have a look at my thread if you want to see. Also i would raw the cranks, then polish them up, an effort but worth it. lastly, if you don't like the big sticker, you could paint over it, rub it down so you have something for the paint to stick to, and paint over.
