Went to see This Must Be the Place last night. Thought I would hate it but in fact I really really liked it. The whole film is very 'gentle', a reflection of it's main character I think. The camera pans very slowly and there are a lot of scenes which are longer than they needed to be but the lighting and photography really held it together. The characters are fantastic, maybe a few too many too concentrate on but Sean Penn totally steals the show anyway. Every nuance he has down to a tee. Also David Byrne makes a guest appearance and a little boy sings 'Arcade Fire' which is incredible. Yadda yadda ya, 8.5/10, would see again...

Interesting - I saw the trailer a couple of times, and rather like watching someone you know die miserably in some local Amateur Dramatics night, I don't think I have ever felt so embarrassed for someone as I did Sean Penn.....I cringed so hard I left wrinkles around my toes

What were they thinking?
