Any thoughts on the frame? They are both butted, the LHT is double butted but the Saga is Tange Prestige rather than Surly's own 4130.
I wouldnt worry too much about what kind of steel the frame have as long it's stiff enough to carry a heavy load.
Both bike received high rating, the Surly more so due to history, in the end it's really entirely up to you, if you want the Soma, go for the Soma.
Up to you (don't forget the Thorn Sherpa, another excellent frame).
