lynx/Raph - thanks for the MOT testing station recommendation in Clapham. The XTZ750 went straight through (admittedly after I'd super-glued a grip on and kicked the front wheel straight with the bars). The tester was a gent.

Any idea when the France trip is planned for and who's going?
I want to get some work done to the XTZ750 that will take it off the road for 2 or 3 weeks but will hold off for as long as possible so I can make the trip.

Is that MOT testing place the one with the rocker in it? I'm sure he passed my old hornet, and gave me a new horn for a fiver, on account of me having a quiff.
B.

Had Guy Martin won a TT yet?

Had Guy Martin won a TT yet?
Nope. (not unless he's won one today...)
2nd is his best result. Retired from a couple while leading, too.

my friend at scooterworks is planning a ride out on the 17th.
here's a message he has sent out
Ok Dudes.
Rideout day is officially the 17th June . Motorbikes we are talking here.Meeting at the waterloo cafe - Scootercaffe 132 Lower Marsh SE17AE from 8am onwards , departing I reckon around 9.30-10 after a decent amount of caffeine is in the system.
Route is yet to be decided but looking at heading south west to the coast and then looping back with a stop for fush and chups somewhere.
If anyone has any mates with bikes who want to come along they are welcome.
Ideally no plastic modern stuff unless its italian . Adam does have a special permit for the VFR .
Its not going to be too much of a sprint so passengers are encouraged.
Its looking like we will be about 15-20 bikes so it should be a good one . If the weather is super grim then we postpone if its light then we meet and decide - call me on ************ to check status.
Any special MOT bookings call me on the mobile also .
RSVP so we know who to wait for on the day.
Be there or be square .

is it the classic motor vehicle run to brighton or the bicycle doodar?
-
• #2466
First time I've been on here in many many months,
Brought this xs650 as a non runner on ebay for under £500
couple of evenings work when it's finally not been raining
and this is the result.
Still need to sort out headlight and front caliper as it was seized
which i've fixed now. Just waiting on one part and it's good to go
get tested.

Bindit better in my opinion.
SV MK1 & MK2 - Get the suspension sorted, or buy one with the GSXR front end fitted. Also the rear shock is pants so decent repalcement also a hugger fitted. Do you like clip ons or handle bars?
Engine wise an air filter if you are going to keep it a K&N so you can wash it out every so ofter. Go for one with an aftermarket can and rejetted to suit. Fun little thing and are used in mini twin racing.
Bindit - Suspension once again and hugger. A cheap mod is get a longer shock puts the bike higher and corner better. More MPG out of the 4 cylinder and both as skinny.
I'd look for R&G crash fitted and a scotoiler makes life easier and shows a bike cared about.
Have you looked at the fazer? The thundercat engine is a peach. But once again barigain price suspension.
Oh which ever bike, bindit or sv use the nissin oe pads fron a honda dealer the numbers are available on the net. Easy and cheap way to nice brakes.
