My understanding is that Hodgson's coaching and managerial style live and dies on the level of teamwork the side's prepared to put in. Maybe that's why he's opting for liverpool's dregs. He said his initial squad was intended to reflect those who played in the qualifying campaign. Fair enough with a month to go. After injuries he's opted for what he deems more malleable players. The problem with this is that, just as at liverpool, he's still faced with dinosaurs in the side. All it takes is Gerrard to usurp the team and splay himself about the park ineffectively to bring it all tumbling down.
