I may be getting into a Left-hand rule type confusion, but does a LHD mean that skids tighten sprocket onto hub? So if it's only acceleration that is the issue.
If I could accelerate at equal rate to my skids I'd be pretty happy, so I'm guessing that the more gradual application of force via acceleration is much less of a strain on the lockring, which is presumably why he gets away with it.
