There's something a bit "cad-like" about Jensen Interceptors, which I rather admire.

Doctor: "What caused your injury, Sir?"
Cad: "an eight-track crushed my knees".Ha. When I had a minor fender bender in my classic Mini, my lanky mate who hadn't moved the seat back cut his knee on the stereo holder that sat under the dash shelf on the passenger side.
When I told the insurance company that my mate cut his knee the woman laughed at me on the phone. I told her the emotional trauma from the scab was worth a few bob. A pint or two. They didn't go for it.

Wouldn't worry about the plates unless you start getting stopped.
My bike plate is about the size of a cd case and I've only been pulled twice for it in 4yrs. As long as you're insured, taxed and mot'd the police don't seem to care much these days - all of the above they can check electronically too which is a welcome change from the days of producers etc...
Looks a bit shiny though - run it through a couple of muddy storm drains and stick a dent or two in it. Bit of character.....
I don't know what the deal is with plates. They always make such a thing out of it but I've never had any problems. My 106 Rallye had pressed french style plates and my Corrado had pressed german plates and I never had any bother. Even got stopped in my Rallye as I had a light out.. Was expecting him to mention the plates, especially when he started asking who it was registered too (was on my dads fleet policy) so an ANPR camera could obviously read it. He never said a thing.
Ran a motorbike-sized stick on plate on my mini. Never had any problems with that either. (excuse the shit photo, digi cameras were barely inveted when this was taken!)

That steering wheel looks small.
Cool as fuck, just needs a proper handbrake and it'll be perfect for a tarmac rally.I've just welded shut the EGR flange on my old engine. Fucking EGR. Die you horrible stupid system.

It looks like all the remaining parts from the RipSpeed sale bin.

The dross will be removed anyway. I don't do interiors.

He sounds like a hoot!
Yeh, he has a thing for fun cars. At present we have a DS, a Minor saloon, a minor convertible, and a half built TVR Vixen/Tuscan hybrid racer.
Fucking nice.
Going to see this at the weekend hopefully:
He assures me the interior is now in one piece again.Interior is gash but the exterior is spot on. As soon as I can get another car, it will be an MX.

A pal of mine said that his MX5 was the best car he'd had.

There are others on here with similarly hopeless/amusing car stories but I was specifically listing the people offering advice to V-L.
Minky does need a mention just because his story is one of the bigger jokes out of all of us.
RRC with race tuned, blueprinted, Rover V8 (this could end here and be funny enough...)
Badly tuned on multiple occasions and sips fuel at a mere 8mpg.
Sounds thunderous, intakes are large enough to suck in children and the odd vertically challenged adult.
The exhaust has broken more times than I have broken gearboxes.
Spends more time not firing on all eight cyclinders.
Got near enough written off by his own mother driving into it.
Every time he tries to sort out the bodywork and interior, something goes wrong mechanically.Funny you should mention that. The work correcting the mis-fire and idleing problems worked for all of, ohhh let me think, a week before reverting back to the std. fuel consumption/misfire, etc, etc. A nasty phone call to my mechanic is looming (he appears to have also broken my horn).
The good thing is the suspension only cost me a grand to get sorted!
