  • Not sure how a rear brake would make any difference, secondly why did the car have to take evasive action? Too close to the cyclist? not following the highway code and giving as much space as they would when overtaking a car?

    so this has what to do with avoiding manhole covers? sorry I forget.

    I didn't really mean to imply that it was.

    Just figured that if somebody rides their bike in a way that is unpredictable to other road users and pedestrians it might be a good idea to have two methods of braking. You know, just in case you have to stop for any reason.
