What is hogg hill like for TTs?
Hilly.
I haven't ridden there, but I can't imagine that it produces very fast times.

This.
I wasn't really in a state to race by the time I got there, I was late so I signed on, and started within 5 minutes of arriving.
I didn't hugely enjoy it, the mental battle started on lap 1 of 8, I can imagine that crits are really fun on that course, but I don't see the point in doing TTs there. I will be going back every Tuesday though as in my head it's good training.

I thought it wouldn't be that good to be honest.
Tonight is Bexley so will be attempting to redeem myself after last weeks performance, tempted to gear down from 84 GI -

I'll have to come try Bexley after spending a couple of months doing Hog Hill every Tuesday and see how I do.
My time was 32.36, which as a time I'm disappointed with, but as a time for the course I feel was an acceptable first go.

TTs on a closed circuit might be slower but they're safer and more pleasant that dual-carriageway out and backs.

When I did E1/25, it was mostly B road with a short stretch on a single carriageway A road for the turn and I found that more enjoyable but I don't know if that's because I was in the right frame of mind.

The word pleasant feels strange when talking about TTs
-

If you're enjoying it, you're doing it wrong. Having said that I had a laugh in my last 10 last year.. unfortunately if I'd not messed about I'd have PB'd it. #unknownpowerreserves

LOL, yes I know, but it depends on what you class as 'enjoyable'.
I don't mean to sound like I'm preaching to you here, at a simple guess I'd say you've probably got about 50-100x more experience just in terms of TT miles, but I like to think if you don't enjoy competition and the resultant pain then it's probably not for you anyway.
It's not like we all decide to do TTs because they're easy??

I like competition. I like the feeling of having used my body for something energetic before most people have even got out of bed and staggered towards their fry up. I like getting better at something and doing things to see their effect on performance. I like the science behind it all. I like beer.

And look at posh bikes while they fly past you/you fly past them.

Second attempt at Bexley 10, slightly lower geared at 80 GI.
Paced the uphill part much better and didnt cramp this time. Could have pushed more on the downhill though.
PB at 27.02

^aiming for sub 24 on the road bike, as is. soon.
I reckon if I was on the nice bike with the really silly wheels I'd have =PBed tonight. Once I break 24 I'll stick some aero bars on, get a pointy helmet and start playing the game properly.
