Why Middleburn cranks?
Don't get me wrong, they're nice but the proprietary spider aspect isn't going to make for the lightest or stiffest chainset. The arms and axle alone are 548g).

Last I looked at them was for a SS MTB build and I remembered them being light for the monies.

I was also thinking about ease of set-up. Which is why I also suggested a standard track rear hub. Its by no means a super clever bling build. More what I would probably do myself.

I guess the Cannondale cranks would be difficult to beat for weight/stiffness.
