I can't fathom why he's not being given more chances in the UK or the US. I know these things take time, but seriously... Monsters clearly impressed distributors who bigged it up, but he basically drifted back to his 9-5 in Swansea until his wife suggested moving back to live with her family in Jakarta. I've complained before in this thread about shoddy infrastructure for filmmakers in the UK with a virtual lack of support unless you want to make the sort of toss Working Title have resorted to. We've got bags of talent here but no outlet so clever people end up making great films abroad where they're welcomed with open arms.
