Fuck me...Ian Ayre and Steve Clarke have gone now too!
Would the last one out please turn off the lights!
-
• #60053
With Carragher in the back four there was only ever so much that Steve Clarke could hope to achieve. They leaked like a fucked washing machine.
-
• #60054
They're obviously removing all the old guard/old boys network and going to go for a whole new setup. This did work for the perenially pisspoor Boston Redsox.
Though it should be noted they totally unravelled last season, had another clearout and are shite this one too.

This is turning into a right laugh
I wonder who will be next for the chop. I expect Suarez will be off next -
• #60056
Fuck! That was quick...

Pre-season 2011-2012 'Expert' predictions
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/14388154
Most had Liverpool nailed on for fourth. Personal highlight
Robbie Savage
"..the Kenny Dalglish factor at Anfield will push Liverpool into the top 4 because, unlike Arsenal, they are a club players want to join not leave"Comedy gold.
-
• #60058
^ True enough. Some pretty mediocre players wanted to join, couldn't believe their luck and did.
-
• #60059
Only one person thought city would win.
Mark Bright had liverpool to win?!
-
• #60060
Bruce Arena for FC Liverpool Reds? He's definitely the man for the Warrior Sports Arena's Standard Chartered Kop bleachers.
LOLerpool.

Tottenham will have completed the Vertonghen deal by the other side of the weekend. Apparently an injury and the upfront amount (before knowing if Champions league) are sticking points. Nailed on. Annoyed as I'd have liked him to come join us. Apparently 2 Spurs CB's will be leaving in the close season so he will be first choice...
M'villa to Arsenal to be sorted before the European Champs
Kagawa and (really annoyingly) Hazard to Manchester United.
-
• #60062
Hazard was always gonna go to a Manc club. Fee would have been way too high for Arsenal.
Do we need a centre back? We possibly need a fullback, but I don't think our defence is inherently bad. Kos has come a long way. Mert'll be back for next season. The biggest change for us this season will be Bould as assistant manager. I'm optimistic he'll go a long way to improving our defence. It should be the catalyst for change.

Tenderloin, would assume the two CB's leaving for spurs would be Gallas and King. Kaboul showed he's got what it takes and has mostly cut out the defensive lapses that he was prone to before. Dawson when fit is the epitome of the english center back and I think we missed his leadership and commitment in those games towards the end of the season. Heard Verthonghen?? Is useful but not read or seen much about him.
If its true good to see Spurs getting some transfer business done early, rather than waiting for end of the window and firing out desperate deals to all and sundry.
On the hazard thing, ManU need him more than any of the other clubs and he'd suit their style of play, heard he was looking for big money 150k-200k a week, which is alot for a player who although he's set the French league alight still has much to prove..

Jordan Henderson is on standby in case of injuries, along with Jagielka and Adam Johnson.
Fuck me, this ain't a good start Hodgson.
An Everton player on standby in case of injuries?
He clearly hasn't thought this through.

With Carragher in the back four there was only ever so much that Steve Clarke could hope to achieve. They leaked like a fucked washing machine.
ahem, up untill the last month or two of the season we were the second best defence in the league
leaks like a, sieve and liverpool should not be used in the same sentence
-
• #60066
Swansea, Everton and Newcastle all had more clean sheets than Liverpool who had 12, which is poor by their standards.
-
• #60067
i was talking about goals against column
we had the second best defence in the league for 3/4's of it
shame we let in a goal a game and this resulted in soooo many draws -
• #60068
What really cost Liverpool is the number of draws and games lost by a one goal margin. Last season there were 10 games lost by a one goal margin, the new manager should be judged on converting all those draws in wins and the one goal margin losses into draws. Not too dissimilar of what is expected at Chelsea.

quote from yesterday
cut kenny dalglish, and he bleeds red ! -
• #60071
we're gonna end up like villa with 4 managers in two years
sliding down the tablei need a hug .. anyone ?
where the heck is chainbreaker
i thought he'd be straight in for the hugs but nothing !?
i am disappoint -
• #60072
Apparently Liverpool approached AVB two weeks ago in order to stop him going to Roma. Betting on him taking the scouse dollar has been suspended.
He will do well there with the support of Gerrard, Carragher and Bellamy. Luckily Liverpool are a team free of egos.

Anyone else off to Munich for the weekend?
-
• #60074
The cost of appointing and sacking Hodgson and Dalglish is rumoured to be the best part of £17M (not counting the £100M of dead wood that was brought in under the tenure of KK). Suarez is the only player of any real value but he's doing a good job in reducing it.
At least Roman can afford to sack his managers

Anyone else off to Munich for the weekend?
Stop rubbing my nose in it. Have a great time!
What I said
:)
Liverpool chairman Tom Werner: "Kenny came into the Club as Manager at our request at a time when Liverpool Football Club really needed him. He didn't ask to be Manager; he was asked to assume the role. He did so because he knew the Club needed him. He did more than anyone else to stabilize Liverpool over the past year-and-a-half and to get us once again looking forward. We owe him a great debt of gratitude.
"However, results in the Premier League have been disappointing and we believe to build on the progress that has already been made, we need to make a change.
"We are committed to delivering success for our supporters and our ambition remains resolute to return this great Club to the elite of England and Europe, where it belongs."
