I had the same problem with my skx175. It suddenly started gaining a few hours every day. it turned out the cure was to slap it into the palm of my hand to release whetever it was that was stuck. It returned to running a bit too slow and is now in for proper regulation.
So for Seiko 7s26 running exceptionally fast; bang it caseback first against something.
Anyone here tried regulating a mechanical watch?
I've done it with my Girlfriend's watch which worked well.
I dropped my 1998 Omega Dynamic the other day, and now it runs about 40mins fast a day. Can I try the same by regulating it, assuming it's consistently fast in most positions?
if it runs more than a few minutes per day, regulating will do nothing.
I dropped one of mine a while back, it too runs 30 minutes + per day.
It could have got oil on the mainspring.
which will need a clean at least.
Regulating only works for + / - a few minutes each way.
I have to get mine done too.
